We provide training for both State and Local Public Safety personnel. This includes Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical professionals. Attention all students attending Georgia Fire Academy classes here at RAPSTC! GPSTC has changed their procedures for registering for classes. Starting July 1st 2014 paper registration is no longer allowed (SAF's). All students wishing to attend a GFA classes must be registered with GPSTC electronically before the start of class. If you are not registered with GPSTC prior to the start of class you may not be allowed to attend. Due to this change, for all GFA classes held here at RAPSTC it will be necessary for students to be dual registered with both GPSTC and here at RAPSTC. Your Training Officer will need to register you on the GPSTC site as well as the GO SIGN ME UP site for us here at RAPSTC. The program teaches the integrated use of the three most commonly used duty belt tools: baton, restraints and tactical flashlight. AIC students participate in a demanding progression of classroom and fast-paced physical training. The training covers both the principle and practice of different baton strikes, restraint application, and tactical flashlight use. This intense course includes multi-use drills, general tactics and expert support in the event of litigation. You do not have to be a current user of ASP products to attend. This is an ASP factory-sponsored training—there is no charge to attend, and each participant will keep over $300 worth of ASP equipment upon successful completion of the AIC. A must for departments using aerial apparatus, this course covers such topics as: Types and Construction of Aerial Apparatus, Positioning Aerial Apparatus, Stabilizing Systems, and Maintenance and Testing. This course is based on NFPA 1002, "Standard on Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications" and may lead to a ProBoard certifications. The course will prepare the student to recognize warning signs and dangers regarding building collapse before and during an incident so appropriate preventive or protective actions can be taken and the correct tactical decisions can be made. Instruction will include principles of construction for wood and other conventional construction materials. This class receives local credit only! There is no GFA or NFA credit with this course work.
